VP, Strategic Investments and Acquisitions Needed



Role Summary/Purpose:

This role entails active involvement in the execution of strategic venture capital investments and acquisitions including: transaction screening and analysis, investment memo preparation, due diligence, and portfolio management. As a Vice President, you will be a key member of a deal team for equity investments and acquisition opportunities, leading execution and due diligence efforts as well as monitoring and supporting our client's portfolio of investments. You will be part of a nimble, high-impact team, with direct exposure to senior management and all aspects of the investment process. Essential Responsibilities

  • As a critical member of the Strategic Investments and Acquisitions team, this role will have direct responsibility for screening, analyzing, researching, modeling, and developing recommendations and presentation materials for strategic equity investments and acquisitions.
  • Research and conduct due diligence on potential investment opportunities including reference checks and portfolio company visits.
  • Analyze investment and acquisition opportunities/sectors. Formulate and present investment theses and present recommendations to investment committee.
  • Lead aspects of acquisitions and equity investment transactions including: screening, due diligence, analysis, financial modeling, structuring, negotiation and documentation, and portfolio management.
  • Work with Risk and Finance teams to develop detailed operating and financial models to support investment decisions; perform sensitivity analyses and assess investment return scenarios.
  • Monitor financial/operational conditions and industry dynamics of assigned portfolio.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned 
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in M&A, corporate development, venture capital, corporate venture capital, or private equity investing.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently coordinate due diligence processes, perform financial analysis, conduct reference checks, prepare investment memos and develop recommendations for senior management.
  • Minimum of 12 months working in matrix environment with cross functional teams.
Desired Characteristics
  • 7+ years M&A or venture capital experience including time spent at a venture capital firm, investment bank, or large financial institution in corporate development function.
  • Boundless energy level with a passion for M&A, equity investing, innovation, and deal dynamics.
  • Deal history and track record of successful transactions.
  • Extensive financial analysis experience including modeling, underwriting, due diligence, documentation and negotiations skills.
  • MBA and/or CFA preferred, but not required.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as with cross functional teams.
  • Strong work ethic, high energy level and unyielding integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Eligibility Requirements
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the selection process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • Effective 1-1-18, new hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a “consistently meets expectations” performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance requirement).
